Behind the Curtain: How My Weird Prompts Gets Made
Every now and then, the hosts turn the microphone on themselves. These meta-episodes explain how My Weird Prompts actually works — and where it’s going.
The Origin Story
- The Story Behind the Show goes back to the beginning. Daniel’s habit of sending voice notes with random questions and observations, the idea of turning those into an AI-hosted podcast, and the early experiments with text-to-speech that sounded more robotic than conversational. The concept was simple: one human sends a prompt, two AI hosts discuss it, and the result is a real podcast episode.
The Pipeline
- Behind the Curtain and Inside the Engine pulled back the technical curtain. The production pipeline takes a voice recording, transcribes it, generates a show plan, writes a script through multiple AI passes, converts it to speech with custom voice models, assembles the audio with intros and outros, and publishes to all podcast platforms — all automatically. At 800+ episodes, manual production would be impossible.
The Cast Expands
- Expanding the Menagerie introduced new voices beyond Corn and Herman. The episode discussed the design decisions behind adding characters: what personality niches to fill, how to differentiate voices in TTS, and the creative tension between consistency and variety.
What’s Next
- Evolution of the Machine looked ahead to real-time audio generation, interactive episodes, and the blurring line between scripted and live AI content. The hosts acknowledged the obvious irony of AI hosts speculating about their own future evolution.
These episodes are the show’s equivalent of DVD commentary. If you’ve ever wondered how a single person and two AI hosts produce a daily podcast, this is where to start.
